I am a second grader in middle school. Although I am young, I have experienced something I have never done before. It is COVID-19. It has made my friends and me experience such particular and unexpected things.
Paradoxically, while we have remote classes and we really hope we don’t have to go to school, we are not happy. Taking classes at home was thought to be very convenient at first, but it was not all the time. It was very difficult to concentrate on the class. I sometimes felt bored and stuffy because I could not get together with my friends and study with them.
In addition, even when I go to school, it is very difficult to enjoy school life as much as I want because we have to keep social distance and wear a mask. It's very uncomfortable and not easy to breathe and talk with my friends. My friends and I can't talk comfortably because we have to stay away from each other even during lunchtime. After school, we should be careful when we get together with our friends.
School life has changed a lot due to the outbreak of coronavirus. We can't use school facilities such as the auditorium and table tennis courts, things that were taken for granted before the outbreak of COVID-19. We used to play soccer with friends during lunchtime, but we can't play soccer freely any longer now. And we have difficulty breathing because we almost always wear a mask, even during PE classes. It makes us feel unhappy that we always have to check our body temperature and wash our hands with hand sanitizers as soon as we arrive at school. When coughing with a nasal inflammation, we look around timidly to see how other people feel. Coronavirus made my school life very uncomfortable.
I hope coronavirus ends soon so that I can take off my mask and talk with my friends. We, human beings, are social animals.
